A Former Educator Who Will Stand Up for Fargo's Students and Teachers
Why am I running for the school board?
Fargo's teachers deserve more people actively in their corner. I’ve known a lot of teachers over the years, and I’ve seen too many of them make the difficult decision to move on from their careers after years of training and employment. I want Fargo to be a prominent destination for educators, who then stay because they love our community, are well supported, receive an attractive compensation, and work with amazing students in great facilities.
Students could also use more people in their corner. Public school is not only an education for our children, but also a safe haven for kids that don't get everything they need at home. I want Fargo Public Schools to be a pillar for kids who yearn to feel included, welcomed, and safe at school. Besides great teachers, our students deserve extra support. Hiring more counselors, paraprofessionals, and support staff is a great place to start.
